Let God Keep Watering You.

One of my favorite seasons is spring because it’s when the plants and flowers bloom. One of my desires is to have more plants and flowers throughout the house. I have tried several times but unfortunately they always seem to die, sometimes because I would forget to water them, other times because I would put them in the wrong place and sometimes I would just forget to talk to it for weeks at a time. They say, talking to your plants really works! During the last 4 years, I have been nurturing a few plants and they have very much become part of our family. I always make sure to water it and speak a kind word to it. I think I’ve been doing a pretty good job, considering that it’s still alive and breathing.

About 3 weeks ago, one of my plants grew so large that a vine broke off and when I saw the vine lay on the counter, I went into crisis mode. I quickly grabbed the vine, placed it in a vase with water. I felt so sad about my plant. It’s so interesting how someone can get so attached to a plant. I have been watching this vine for a few weeks now and getting so excited because I see some buds rooting and growing, soon it will be ready to be potted in soil.

As I looked at my small vine growing and roots sprouting out, it brought so much joy as it reminds me about God’s desire for our life. His desire is that we produce, grow and multiply in every area of our life.
He waters us daily through His word and speaks to us daily through the voice of the Holy Spirit. His desire is that we prosper in every way. He wants us to have a Victorious Life.

The bible says,
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalms 1:3)

I think that as much as plants need water to survive we need His presence to sustain us so that we flourish. For me, something unique happens when I get into the presence of God, I stop trying to analyze everything, I try hard to remove myself from becoming part of the problem and let God be the captain of my ship. This is not always easy to do, our mind will always want to resist the things of God and we want to do things our way but it comes down to making a quality decision and yielding to the Holy Spirit, to yield to God’s way, not trying to understand everything but having childlike faith and trusting in Him. Sometimes we just need to rest in His arms.  Resting in God’s presence can eliminate much of the struggles we experience in life.

God is the God of new beginnings and we must be nourished so we can flourish and give fruit. There is a season and a process and timing for everything.  When the vine fell off my plant, I thought it was over, it was useless, I thought I had to throw it out but God does not throw us out, He will take the little things we see useless and make them great. The trials and tribulations we experience in the past, God will use now to shape us and mold us and make us stronger. God is the God of turn around.  Never look back, look forward!

It’s all about God’s work! And His desire is that you prosper in every area of your life. Today, have childlike faith and rest in His arms. He has everything under control. It’s okay to say Daddy I need help today!

The greatest lesson I learn with my plant is this; an overwhelming joy in my heart to give my small plant away to a close friend. God’s blessings aren’t just for us to enjoy but out of the overflow we can bless others.

“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit” (John 15:8)
Let God keep watering you so you can grow and bloom and reach others by sharing Gods Love!

Be Encouraged,
In His Love,
