Let God Keep Watering You.

One of my favorite seasons is spring because it’s when the plants and flowers bloom. One of my desires is to have more plants and flowers throughout the house. I have tried several times but unfortunately they always seem to die, sometimes because I would forget to water them, other times because I would put them in the wrong place and sometimes I would just forget to talk to it for weeks at a time. They say, talking to your plants really works! During the last 4 years, I have been nurturing a few plants and they have very much become part of our family. I always make sure to water it and speak a kind word to it. I think I’ve been doing a pretty good job, considering that it’s still alive and breathing.

About 3 weeks ago, one of my plants grew so large that a vine broke off and when I saw the vine lay on the counter, I went into crisis mode. I quickly grabbed the vine, placed it in a vase with water. I felt so sad about my plant. It’s so interesting how someone can get so attached to a plant. I have been watching this vine for a few weeks now and getting so excited because I see some buds rooting and growing, soon it will be ready to be potted in soil.

As I looked at my small vine growing and roots sprouting out, it brought so much joy as it reminds me about God’s desire for our life. His desire is that we produce, grow and multiply in every area of our life.
He waters us daily through His word and speaks to us daily through the voice of the Holy Spirit. His desire is that we prosper in every way. He wants us to have a Victorious Life.

The bible says,
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalms 1:3)

I think that as much as plants need water to survive we need His presence to sustain us so that we flourish. For me, something unique happens when I get into the presence of God, I stop trying to analyze everything, I try hard to remove myself from becoming part of the problem and let God be the captain of my ship. This is not always easy to do, our mind will always want to resist the things of God and we want to do things our way but it comes down to making a quality decision and yielding to the Holy Spirit, to yield to God’s way, not trying to understand everything but having childlike faith and trusting in Him. Sometimes we just need to rest in His arms.  Resting in God’s presence can eliminate much of the struggles we experience in life.

God is the God of new beginnings and we must be nourished so we can flourish and give fruit. There is a season and a process and timing for everything.  When the vine fell off my plant, I thought it was over, it was useless, I thought I had to throw it out but God does not throw us out, He will take the little things we see useless and make them great. The trials and tribulations we experience in the past, God will use now to shape us and mold us and make us stronger. God is the God of turn around.  Never look back, look forward!

It’s all about God’s work! And His desire is that you prosper in every area of your life. Today, have childlike faith and rest in His arms. He has everything under control. It’s okay to say Daddy I need help today!

The greatest lesson I learn with my plant is this; an overwhelming joy in my heart to give my small plant away to a close friend. God’s blessings aren’t just for us to enjoy but out of the overflow we can bless others.

“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit” (John 15:8)
Let God keep watering you so you can grow and bloom and reach others by sharing Gods Love!

Finding Rest Today.

Trying to Find Rest Today.

As I was making my bed today, my little 3yr. old boy began helping me straighten the bed sheets. As we were about finishing, he looks at me with his little brown eyes and "suddenly" rushes up on top of the bed lifts one side of the blanket sheet and hides underneath it, it just took him 3 seconds, he starts to giggle away, then staying quite pretending he's sleeping, so I played along with him for a while.

After a few minutes, I noticed him slowly closing his eyes, his eyelids slowly shutting close, he was falling asleep. I immediately stood quite making sure not to make any noise, as I immediately began thinking about my opportunity to do other chores while he sleep’s but as I stood over him, and watched his calm sleep something caught my attention as I gazed at him hearing his little deep breath snoring, a thought came to my mind.  I thought about how God covers us with His love. I was reminded that in His presence we find rest, under His protection we find security.

As adults we can easily forget where to find” rest." My son knew exactly were to run, he ran under the covers. In the book of Psalm we read King David would hide under the shadow of the Almighty under the wings. Psalm 91-4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You see real rest is found only in God.  The word "finding rest" could mean different things to different people but for me, it's when I come to the place of acknowledging that when I run out of strength, I could depend on God's strength, to finish the goal. It's when I acknowledge that His ways are better than my ways and I obey His voice, walking by faith and not by sight.  I thank God His promises are always "yes" and "amen" and He always shows up on time. God promises to us, that He will never leave us or forsake us. Stand on this promise today!
Keep trusting in the Lord, You are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
( Psalm 125-1)
Don’t be moved by your circumstances come to the place called "rest" and get under HIS COVERING.
"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way, The Lord be with you all"   (2Thessalonians 3-16)

My Little Black Book.

As I was cleaning today, I came across a little black book, it was my little New Testament bible given to me by my grandma when I was only 7 yrs. old, and her name was Aurelia Estrada Rios. She was a fervent prayer warrior and wife of a Pastor, his name was Secundino Rios. I was so happy to find it, I quickly opened it up to see, if I could find anything that maybe I had highlighted as a special verse. I felt like a child looking for candy. The first verse I found was John 1-32. I find it interesting that at age 7yrs old, the Lord was speaking to me about the Holy Spirit. My grandma was such a special person to me, I love her so much. She often would talk to me for long periods of time, encouraging me and giving me good advice. One image of her that's still in my mind was when I would see her pray for hours on her knees. She always prayed for her family, that one day they would all come to the feet of Jesus. One thing I know for sure, it's that our prayers are never in vain, the majority of her family today serves the Lord. God hears the prayers of our previous generation and we reap now the rewards. We should always sow seeds of prayers for our family, children, and friends, praying for their harvest, their salvation and never loosing hope.
In this life we can choose to focus on the negative memories or the positive ones. I encourage you today; focus on the positive things in life. Remember someone who has positively impacted your life, it's a great way to stir up a spirit of appreciation.  If you feel it in your heart, give someone a significant gift, write them a letter of encouragement, leave something special for the next generation, that maybe one day, they will be cleaning or opening a box like I was and find a positive memory of them. In John 1-32, I'm actually reminded that one of great gifts left to us by our Heavenly Father was the gift of the Holy Spirit, our Comforter. Today, I just want to say, "Grandma I love you so much! Thank you for my gift and for praying for me!"
"I rejoice at your word as one finds great treasure." Psalm 119-162.

There are amazingly wonderful people in all walks of life: some familiar to us and others not. Stretch yourself and really get to know people. People are in many ways one of our greatest treasures. ~Bryant McGill

Who is sipping Mommy's coffee.

While working today this morning in the office, I placed my coffee cup on the corner table and just a couple minutes later I remembered to come back for my coffee and found my baby boy Jayden sipping the coffee, he looked at me with his big brown eyes and said, "OH, oh, Mama"! He put the coffee down and he runs as fast as he could with all the energy he has, and hides behind the rocking chair.  I called him out and said "Jayden its okay!  Although, you have to wait a few more years before it’s okay to drink coffee, just a bit too early for you at age 3, you’re a little too young, Let’s wait!
This example reminds me of sometimes when we've done something wrong or maybe in the wrong timing. In our minds, we think we are so right and do it anyways but to only find out, it just wasn’t the right time. Sometimes this bad feeling will make us run and hide from God.  Sometimes because of our pride we can’t even go back and admit we've done something wrong. However, the bible teaches us that we must have childlike faith and return to our fathers arms. Matthew 18-4  So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
God’s love is gentle and kind and he always makes a way to intervene in our lives. We sometimes just have to be silent and listen to His Voice when he speaks gentle, with love and a promise. God will always speak to our heart with gentle words.
Don’t shrink back today because of what you think you've done wrong, don't run and hide. Instead, keep moving forward! Run to your Daddy’s arms and be embraced with His Love and Grace.
My baby Jayden ran to my arms and hugged me tight. He had coffee all over his little tee-shirt.
I told Jayden, that’s okay baby, I will clean you up!
